Historical accounts suggest that the ancient Shivling of the temple was stolen several decades ago. Later, with the support and dedication of local devotees, a new Shivling was established and the present temple structure was rebuilt through collective community efforts.

In recent years, due to its growing spiritual importance and popularity, government attention toward the temple has also increased.
